Bookmaking: Section 1 (Fall 2019)

Handmade books with twig bindings

Mondays at 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm
09/16/2019 - 12/02/2019

Bookmaking (Ages 5-7) – 1 hr 15 min x 10 weeks
Bookmaking is an ancient craft that we will explore, while adding modern twists. We will make books with sewn bindings, tape bindings, twig bindings, and even no bindings (accordion fold and scrolls)! Collage, stamping, printmaking, and illustration will fill these one-of-a-kind creations, some so tiny that they can fit into a matchbox. Other projects include: marbling paper to use as decorative endpapers, creating unique stamps for page embellishment, and paper making!
