Drop-In Studio activities for June 9 – 11: This week we have a fun Father’s Day fiber art activity. Using fusible fabric pieces and fabric markers you can make a felt bookmark, a felt card, a mini quilt or wall hanging, or design a patch. The patches are not iron-on, but can be stitched onto a backpack, jeans, or any other fabric item. At the paint table we are printing with objects and painting with printmaking breyers. There is a glue activity with colored glue, paper animal and letter shapes and sculptural packaging pieces… you can go 2D or 3D. The tabletop easels are set up with water and bleeding tissue paper. It will be interesting to see the bleeding tissue effect combined with gravity. :) On the front bench there are drafting tools and stencils along with markers. The back bench has the wooden Playshapes. The sensory table is set up with slime and large animal figures. And last, but not least, there are fresh rose petals for smelling and examining under magnifying tools.
