Drop-In Studio activities for June 25 – 27: Most of the activities this week seem to be sculpture-themed, with an emphasis on connecting supplies without tape or glue. One is a collaborative sculpture: using wires, foam pieces, large brads and ‘connectors’ we are experimenting with attaching 3 large pieces of architectural foam. Eventually it will be displayed in the window. At the back tables we are making straw sculptures, using thin wire to ‘stitch’ triangles. We have a ‘make something’ table with upcycled patches, spoons, mesh produce bags, and lots more – sculpt with the supplies or make a contraption, attaching pieces with string and wikisticks (and tape:) At the sensory table we have clay for squeezing and manipulating. At the paint table we’re printing with bubbles! At the easel we have tempera paint and objects to print with, including big erasers. Plus 3 mini activities. And last, but not least, we are crafting crowns in celebration of Summer!!!
