Drop-In Studio activities for December 3 – 5: This week kicks off our 3 weeks of holiday crafting. We do our best to represents all celebrations – please let us know if we left something out! We also do our best to have each activity holiday-neutral if one desires. At the back tables we are upcycling laminate samples and using paper circles as bases for making hanging ornaments and gift tags. Make a set of tags or ornaments for yourself or as a present. At the paint table we have sparkly paints paired with stamps and greasy crayon for printed holiday cards. An additional card making activity is on the side bench. It’s embellishing flat cards and envelopes with rubber stamps, markers and chalk pastel pencils. Another activity is using Model Magic (an air dry dough) to make decorations or sculptures. It can be flattened and cut with cookie cutters, or formed by hand. Colored glue, glitter and various crafty goodies can be used to decorate the formed dough. We have shrinky dinks set up along side key rings, pipe cleaners and foam beads. A shrinky dink key chain would be a great gift! Spin art with circuitry is set up on the back bench. Brushes are at the easel. And oobleck is at the sensory table.
