Drop-In Activities for August 2 – 4: This week we have three different paper crafts: garland making, compositions for hinged mirrors, and spin sculptures! For the garlands we are using shape cutters to cut decorative papers and using glitter stickers to attach the shapes to string. Or, in the case of the photo, you can always make other stuff, like a headdress. We also have paper that you can cut freeform with scissors. For the hinged mirrors we are combining stickers and drawing to create interesting compositions that can be manipulated by looking at them in the reflections of a hinged mirror – very dynamic! The spin sculptures are a take on our spin art, using hand crank generators and mini motors. Make a small 2D or 3D paper creation, mount it on the motor and spin it. The results are very unexpected and exciting!! At the paint table we are driving thru paint with tractors and trains. The easel wall has warm colors and brushes. The back bench has recycle craft. Slime is at the sensory table. And the popsicle shop is still open. :)
