Drop-In Activities for June 21 – 23: This week we are officially turning the pyramid into an ice cream shop! Just in time for summer. At the front tables we have supplies for making the popsicles and ice cream cones. I can’t wait to see the flavors that are invented. We also have supplies for making menus and signs for the shop. At the back tables we are making sculptures using foam pieces, wires, and decorations. Some of the foam pieces are suggestive of wheels, mini airplanes, and train cars (for a toy making twist to the sculpture making). The paint table has large-scale printing with huge styrofoam blocks from packaging and a garden center tray — overprinting is always fun with these interesting shapes. The sensory table has playing with clay and dinos and tools. The easel wall has liquid watercolors. And the back bench has rocks, chalk, and water.
