Artist Books for 11-14s: Thursdays at 3:30 (Early Winter 2020)

Thursdays at 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
01/21/2021 - 03/04/2021

Artist Books (Ages 11-14) – 2 hrs x 6 weeks
Bookmaking is an ancient craft that we will explore, while adding many modern twists, learning the anatomy of the traditional book and moving forward from there. We will make hard and soft cover books with stitched bindings, tape bindings, twig bindings, and even no bindings (accordion fold)! We will paint our own cover and end papers, make woven bookmarks, and add pockets to some of the books. While being introduced to various illustration techniques students will use collage, stamping, drawing, printmaking, personal photographs, and watercolor to fill these one-of-a-kind creations, some so tiny that they can fit into a matchbox. Enrollment limited to 6.
